The market has moved in your favour

AI made resumes easier to write, and harder to trust

Millions of job seekers now paste their history into a chatbot and send whatever comes back. Recruiters have noticed. The result is a market where a resume with real judgment behind it stands out more than it did five years ago, and where people are actively looking for a human to write it.

Where you fit in

MyResumeTool is a resume platform first. People arrive to build, improve or tailor a resume, and many of them start with our AI tools. A share of them reach the same conclusion every time: they want an experienced person to look at their career and make the calls. That is the moment they browse writer profiles.

That gives you something a general freelance marketplace cannot: an audience that has already decided it needs resume help, on a platform whose only job is resumes. You are not one gig among plumbing quotes and logo designs. You are the human option on a resume product.

And because the platform grows through search, paid acquisition and shared resumes, the audience keeps arriving whether or not you are marketing yourself that week.

Not another freelance marketplace

Compare it with the ways you find resume clients today

Most resume writers juggle a general marketplace, a writing service that pays a flat rate, and their own network. Here is how a MyResumeTool writer account differs on the things that decide whether the work is worth it.

How it works

From application to your first payout

Six steps, and only the first two happen before a client can hire you.

01

Create your writer profile

Sign up on the writer portal, then complete your profile: a headline, a summary, the industries you write for, languages, education, work history, portfolio highlights and the price you charge for a resume.

02

Get reviewed

Every profile is reviewed by our team before it goes public. If something needs adjusting, you get the reason and, where it is fixable, the guidance and a link to resubmit.

03

Get discovered and hired

Job seekers browse writer profiles, read your background and reviews, and hire you at your price. They reach you from the writer listing, from the Writers page in their dashboard, or from a link you share yourself. Clients can hire you from the day your profile goes live, with extra prominence while you are new, and job seekers see writers in their own region first.

04

Receive the client's information

Once a client pays, a request opens in your dashboard with a starter resume, whatever the client submitted (an uploaded resume or details entered by hand), an optional target job description, and a chat with the client.

05

Write with AI-assisted tools

Work in the resume editor with the client's material beside you. Run ATS analysis, rewrite sections with AI, align the resume to the job description, pick a template and control what the client can see while you work.

06

Submit, get approved, get paid

Mark the request complete. The client approves it, or it is approved automatically if they do not respond within the review window. Your earnings move from pending to available, and you withdraw whenever your balance is above the minimum.

Your workspace

Find clients and do the work in the same place

Most platforms stop at the introduction. The writer portal covers everything after it: the request, the resume, the conversation, the approval and the money.

Writer dashboard with revenue, request and performance overview

A dashboard built for resume work

Available and pending revenue, active requests, completed resumes, your rating and the number of clients you have worked with, on one screen. Withdraw earnings from the same place.

Request page with resume preview, approval status and client chat

Every request in one view: resume, approvals and chat

Each hire has its own page with a live preview of the resume, your earnings for the job, the approval history and a real-time chat with the client. Attach files, see when your messages are read, and ask for the details you are missing without leaving the request.

Resume editor with live preview and template panel

Write in the editor your clients already use

The client's submitted information sits in a side panel. The resume renders as you type, in whichever template you choose, with autosave and offline recovery so a dropped connection never costs you a draft. When you are done, the client gets the finished resume in their own account.

Revenue page with payout information and transaction history

Revenue and payouts you can actually track

A full transaction history, every payout request and its status, and a payout account you connect once. Nothing is hidden behind a monthly statement.

AI as leverage, not a replacement

Every premium AI tool, included with your writer account

Job seekers pay a subscription for these. Writers get them as part of the job, with no plan to buy. You keep the judgment, the interview and the story. The tools handle the first draft of a bullet, the keyword pass and the formatting, and every change waits for your approval before it lands.

ATS analysis and issue fixing

Score the resume, see a section-by-section breakdown, keyword match and readability, then fix the flagged issues in one pass.

Full and per-field rewriting

Rewrite the whole resume or a single summary, bullet or list. Useful for turning a client's rough notes into a first draft you then sharpen.

Job-description alignment

Paste the target role and have the summary, experience and skills refocused on it. Tailoring a resume for a second application takes minutes, not an evening.

Edit with a prompt

Describe the change in your own words, such as "make the leadership experience more prominent", and review the result.

Review before anything changes

AI edits open in review mode. Switch between the new version and the previous one, with every change highlighted, and accept or discard the batch before anything is saved. Nothing is applied behind your back.

Templates and formatting

Every published template, including the premium ones, with colour, font and size controls and a live preview that updates as you type.

Edit with AI dialog with a prompt field and the target job description

The AI works only from what you and the client provide. It does not invent experience, and you remain responsible for the final document.

What a request looks like

One hire, start to finish

A product manager hires you for a senior fintech role. Here is how the request moves through the platform, with the kind of exchange that turns a duties list into a resume that gets interviews.

  1. 1

The client hires you and submits their material

They pay your price of $150.00, upload their current resume and paste the job description. The request appears in your dashboard with a starter resume attached and, at the current platform fee, $120.00 in your pending balance.

  2. 2

You ask the question the resume is missing

"Your resume lists responsibilities but very few outcomes. Can you tell me about the payments launch you mentioned: how many users did it reach, and what changed for the business?"
  3. 3

The client answers in the chat

"It reached about 2.1 million users in the first quarter and cut failed transactions by roughly 18%. I also led a team of six across two time zones."
  4. 4

You write the bullet, with the tools if you want them

    BEFORE

Responsible for the payments product roadmap and managing the product team.

    AFTER

Launched a consumer mobile payments product that reached 2.1 million users in its first quarter and reduced failed transactions by 18%, leading a team of six engineers and designers across two time zones.

  5. 5

You submit, the client approves, you get paid

You mark the request complete. The client reviews it in their account and approves, or the review window passes and it is approved automatically. The chat closes, the client keeps full access to the resume, and your earnings become available to withdraw. If they need more work later, they rehire you.

Getting paid

Structured, not hopeful

Chasing invoices is the part of freelance writing nobody signed up for. On MyResumeTool the client pays before the request opens, and every step between that payment and your bank account has a rule.

Paid at hire, held until approval

The client's payment is taken when they hire you. Your share, after the platform fee, shows in your pending balance immediately.

A client review window

When you submit, the client has a set window to approve or ask for changes. If they do nothing, the request is approved automatically and your earnings are released.

Limited revision rounds, then a defined process

A client can send work back with feedback a limited number of times. After that, the only path is a formal dispute, reviewed by our team, with three possible outcomes: the payment is retained in full, split, or refunded. Nobody is left in limbo.

Withdraw when you want

Connect a Stripe or Paystack payout account once. Whenever your available balance is above the minimum shown in your dashboard, request a payout. Transfer fees are absorbed by the platform, and where your payout currency differs from USD, the amount you will receive locally is shown before you confirm.

A worked example at the current platform fee

You set your price at $150.00. A client hires you. At the current platform fee, $120.00 moves into your pending balance the moment their payment succeeds, and becomes available the moment they approve your work. Set a higher price and the same fee applies.

There is no cap on how much you can earn and no limit on how many clients you can take on.

Visibility and reputation

Your profile does the selling

A writer profile on MyResumeTool is a public page with your own link. It shows what a job seeker needs to decide: who you are, what you have done, what previous clients said and what you charge.

Writer listing cards with photo, headline, rating, completed resumes and price

What clients see

Photo and banner, headline, career summary, the industries you write for and how long you have worked in each, languages, education and work history, portfolio highlights such as anonymised samples and certificates, your rating, review count, completed resumes and price.

Badges you earn

A Verified Writer badge is granted by our team to writers with a consistent record of good work. A Top Rated badge appears automatically once your average rating and review count pass the platform threshold. Both show on your card in the listing and on your profile.

A fair start for new writers

You do not have to wait for reviews to be seen. New profiles are given extra prominence in their first weeks, and a writer with no reviews yet is ranked on the same footing as everyone else, not held back until the first ones arrive. From there, every strong review moves you up, so your position is earned by the work rather than by how long you have been on the platform. Job seekers also see writers based in their own region first.

Bring your own clients too

Your dashboard gives you a share link with one-tap posting to LinkedIn, X and WhatsApp. Put it in your email signature, your website or a post, and anyone who clicks lands on your profile with a Hire button, the intake flow and payment protection already in place.

Reviews that compound

After each completed request the client can leave a rating and a written review. They appear on your public profile, and your ratings page shows your average, your total and the share that were positive.

Know what is working

Profile views, hire-button clicks, earnings over time, resumes created and the countries your visitors come from, over any date range. When you share your link somewhere new, you can see whether it brought anyone.

Who we are looking for

Writers who can be trusted with someone's next job

We are prioritising writers who can give job seekers thoughtful, reliable, professional resume support. You do not need a certification, but you do need experience that shows you understand how hiring works.

A good fit

  • Professional resume writers, including CPRW, CMRW and similar certification holders

  • Career coaches who already write or review resumes for clients

  • Recruiters and HR professionals who have screened resumes for a living

  • Writers and editors with a specialism in a particular industry or seniority level

  • Anyone rebuilding a resume practice who wants clients without paying for ads or proposals

What we expect

  • Strong written English and clear, prompt communication with clients

  • A complete, honest profile. Profile changes are reviewed before they go live

  • Respect for client data. Portfolio samples must have names and contact details removed

  • Work that stands on its own. Writers who deliver poorly or behave unprofessionally can be deactivated

  • Availability to answer clients and finish requests you have accepted payment for

Writers from anywhere can apply. The platform serves English-speaking job seekers, so all client work is in English.

Where this is going

We are starting with resumes. We are not stopping there.

The resume is the first thing every job seeker needs and the first service the marketplace supports. As the writer network grows, the same profile, client flow and payment protection will extend to the services job seekers ask for next. Early writers build their reputation first.

Questions writers ask

Before you apply

Apply as a Writer

Nothing. There is no fee to apply, to be listed or to receive requests. The platform takes a fee only when a client pays to hire you. The current rate is always shown in your writer dashboard, and the rate in force when a payment succeeds is the one applied to that request, even if it changes later.

You do. You set a single price for a resume-writing request, anywhere above the platform minimum, with no ceiling. Change it at any time in your settings; the new price applies to new hires and existing requests keep the price the client paid.

Three ways. Job seekers browse the writer listing on MyResumeTool and hire straight from your profile. They can also find you from the Writers page in their dashboard. And you can share your profile link with your own network, on LinkedIn, in your email signature or anywhere else. All three routes go through the same hire, intake and payment flow.

Every profile is reviewed by our team before it goes public, and how long that takes depends on the current application queue. If your application is not approved you always receive the reason, and what happens next depends on why. Where the gap is something you can fix, your application comes back with guidance and a link to update and resubmit it straight away. Otherwise you are told the date you can apply again. A small number of decisions are final, and we say so plainly when that is the case.

You are notified by email and in your dashboard. The request page holds a starter resume, whatever the client submitted, the job description if they added one, and a chat. There is no accept or decline step: the client has already paid, so the request is yours to complete.

Only if you let them. Each request has an access setting you control: no access, read-only or full editing. When you submit the work the client automatically gets at least read access so they can review it, and on approval they receive full access.

They can send the submission back with feedback, and you revise and resubmit. A client can do this a limited number of times. After that they can no longer reject the work; the only remaining route is a formal dispute reviewed by our team.

Both you and the client explain your position in the dispute thread. Our team reviews the request, the resume and the conversation and resolves it one of three ways: the payment is retained and you receive your full earnings, the payment is split between you and the client, or the client is refunded in full. Open disputes pause approvals until they are resolved.

Earnings become available when a client approves your work or the review window passes without a response. Once your available balance reaches the minimum shown in your dashboard, request a payout to your connected Stripe or Paystack account from the revenue page. One payout can be in progress at a time.

No. They are there to speed up the parts of the job that do not need you, such as first drafts, keyword passes and formatting. Every AI change waits for your approval, and plenty of writers use the editor, templates and analysis without touching the rewrite features.

Yes. Send them your profile link. They hire you at your listed price and get the same intake, chat, review window and payment protection as any other client. The platform fee applies to every paid hire on the platform, including those you bring yourself.

No. There is no exclusivity and no minimum number of requests. Keep your existing clients and channels; the writer account is another place for work to arrive.

The client. On completion they receive full access to the resume in their own account, where they can edit, download and share it. Your editing session on that request closes at the same time.

Yes, and all client work is in English. Getting paid is the part worth checking first: you withdraw through one of our payout providers, so you need one of them to operate where you live. Where your payout currency differs from USD, the payout flow shows the amount you will receive locally before you confirm.

No. Your earnings depend on the price you set and the number of clients who hire you. There is no cap on either, and no limit on how many requests you can have open at once.

Ready to put your resume expertise in front of people who need it?

Create your writer account, complete your profile and get reviewed. Your first request can arrive the day your profile goes live.
